Surgery

Tomorrow I am going in for surgery, and I am going to hope that I maintain my weight. I won't be able to really exercise until the beginning of the new year. I Am going to eat on weight watchers and track the best I can. I hope that whatever followers I may have, you'll follow me through this journey and I hope that I can find some tips to help you in your journey, should you ever have surgery. I will post when i can but I will be on painkillers for a good few days. Until next time.

I had a dream.... (also a recipe for a delicious baked potato)

I had a dream once. It was of the worlds most delicious Coca Cola. Fizzy, cold, crisp, delicious, and the best thing since sliced bread! I woke up wanting this Coke. Oh how I would have given anything for this Coke. But I did not! Because I made a commitment to NO SODA!!!! I have been Soda Free since  May 12, 2014 !!! That has been 17 weeks (3 Months) of nothing. The only indulgence I have is a Coke Slurpee. Hey there is no carbonation in it. The only bad thing to this is the occasional delicious Coca Cola dream, other than that I feel normal. I fear that if I ever drank a Coke again - I would simply just hate myself. So I will never drink soda again (I plan to keep this for a long [if not forever] time). Weight Loss Update: Weight loss is good, I am down 10 pounds on Weight Watchers, I weigh in again Saturday so that is always an exciting thing! Confessions of a Repeat Weight Watchers Attendee

Image
2004-2014 are the years I have tried Weight Watchers a total of THREE TIMES! I am making a goal of no longer rejoining Weight Watchers, but STAYING on it and fulfilling all my weight loss goals. Why have I done it? Well let me tell you why. First Time: Because my family and society wanted me to. Second Time: Because I wanted to and my family wanted me to. Third Time: Because I want to do it, and ONLY for me. It is funny how you mature in things, and when people say "I wish I would have done it when I was your age", it gets to be a little annoying. BUT coming from me and my three attempts - I wish I would have had the dedication and motivation I have now to no soda, Weight Watchers, and exercise - back in high school when I was still under 200 pounds. Weight loss is the epic and never ending story to someone like me, I feel like we can all bond over the simplest of things. Progress with Weight Watchers: As of last week, I am down 4.8 pounds - and I am on my third

Here I go AGAIN!

Image
Dear Blogger Friends, Yesterday (July 10, 2014), I embarked a new weight loss journey with an old friend. Me and my Gym Buddy Cyndi decided it was time to try Weight Watchers again. We have both done it a couple times before, but I feel this time it is really going to stick. They have a plan that makes it easier to lose. If you are interested in the plan, go check out a meeting for free to see if it is something you would like. Click here to visit the website. Me and Cyndi at our first meeting last night. Here we go! Hopefully this will boost  my NO SODA challenge. I will keep you posted throughout the weeks. Until Next Time :)

The No Soda Challenge: Week 8

Image
This whole NO soda thing, has become second nature to me. I don't even crave a coke, I don't even want a Diet Dr. Pepper. It has become a lifestyle. I may not look any different, but I feel different. I think that is all that should matter. I can take the stairs, and not feel completely out of breathe (even though the stairs to my apartment can be a little tedious). So, I know I may not have too many followers (even though my goal is to inspire). But here are some tips to stop drinking soda. 1. Cold Turkey Soda . Today is your last day of drinking soda! tomorrow you are going to go buy additives for your water, find some non carbonated beverages that you like, and perhaps find a way to rekindle that love with water  once again. Here are some good sites to help you find some good things for your water, and other beverages you will like: Click here for some naturally flavored water tips. Click here fore some other additives to your water Don't forget about Crysta

Update 4 of no soda

Six weeks. Six weeks of no soda and no cheating with even a diet soda. I honestly don't feel any different than I did before, except I am less winded and no stomach cramps. I am drinking low to zero calorie drinks and a lot of water. I pee a lot. I think I am going to revamp my eating plan (my body is used to the old one) and incorporate more workouts. I will post next time I can. I won't give up on my no soda challenge. I have found peach green tea the most refreshing thing ever. Until next time

The No Soda Challenge: Update 3.

Image
Dear Readers, It has been three weeks since I have cut out soda. I have not  cheated, even though there have been a few days a coke would sound delicious. I have been eating my normal diet and exercising and all that jazz and I haven't lost anything!!! Good news, however, is that I haven't gained anything. I know it has only been three weeks, I am for sure not giving up. I am going to keep going because I don't feel I need soda or want soda anymore. I feel good, I feel like I could walk to the moon, but we will wait for that. I am not drinking a ton of calorie drinks like slushees, fruit punch (unless sugar free). So this is my feeling of my own no soda challenge: Anyone have any suggestions? To participate or discuss, please follow my group page on my challenges: Big Girl Small Problems Challenges

The No Soda Challenge Update 2

Image
Today marks my one week anniversary! I am proud of myself, I haven't committed this long to no soda. I hope that I can keep it up! Things that get me through the day: Water Fruit Punch Crystal Light Fresh Lemon Lime Water Slurpees Smoothies True Lemon/Lime products Let me tell you about a product that I love. I bought it last week and tried it for the first time today. It is True Lemon Peach Lemonade. I haven't had something this delicious in a long time! Tomorrow I cannot wait to try the True Lime Black Cherry Limeade! Where can you get these? Pretty much any grocery store in the punch mix isle by the Crystal Light. How do do I feel? I feel a lot less bloated and icky. I have only dropped one pound, which is good because I haven't been the best on my diet the past couple of days. Where do I see myself in the next week with no soda? To a point of not even wanting the Coke flavored slurpee at the 7-11, and feeling my stomach a little flatter.

The no Soda Challenge Update 1

Image
It has been 3 days of no soda. So far so good. When I tell people of my choice some are like "ugh why soda is so good!" But to be honest I can already tell a difference. I bought some mixes to go into my water like Crystal Light and True Lemon and today I made lemon lime water. An inspiration from Pinterest. I hope it aids with my digestion because there is some needed help in tha t department. Everyday it's a little better and I am alright with better than worse. Until next time.

The No Soda Challenge

Image
I might die, I might cry, I may never be the same again. In fact this is what I am shooting for. Eating right, exercising, and all that other good mojo just doesn't seem to cut the fat the way I want it. Soda makes me feel bloated, ugly, disgusting. Today I am going to attempt to cold turkey it completely. I am also going to stop eating candy like it is going out of style. Of course I will have a treat here or there, but I am going to going to go sugar free, fat free. Oh mother of all that is good, please help me in this no soda endeavor, and forgive me if I slip and drink a diet soda here or there. I am going to try other alternatives like Crystal Light, V8 Enegry Juice, and other such things. If I have any readers... what do you like in a non soda world?

Oh Hey... It is a fat day! AND a review of the Nike Fuelband SE

Image
Well... it is a fat day. Hate those. You try so hard and everything falls apart. So I went to google.com and found a wonderful fat day blog that I would like to reference. From Flab to Fab! I'm Having a Fat Day! [click]. Here are some things I can learn from it, and so can you! 1. Don't eat a ton of junk, just because you feel like you're already fat. 2. Your pants may not fit now, but tomorrow they will fit better. 3. Guys have fat days too. 4. If you are on your lady time... do we even expect anything less?         4A: My last or second to last day I retain the most water. Then tomorrow or the next, it will be like it never happened! 5. Go to the gym, drink lots of water, love life. I think after lunch I might go for a little stroll around the park later this afternoon. I have been good about keeping a second pair of shoes here in case the opportunity can present itself for a 15 minute walk. It is so nice out there! Anyway I just thought I would let you know

Confessions of a New Gym Head

Can I just say that I have always hated the gym? But lately I only want to be at the gym. I guess it helps that I like my gym, and don't go alone. Anyone else like this? I used to call people like this a "gym head" but now I am eating my words. Here are today's reasons for going through the awful weight loss cycle for the umpteenth time... 1. To get fit 2. No more back pain 3. To meet gentlemen that will like me for me, because I will like me for me. 4. Self confidence. And that is that in a nutshell. Any who until next time....

The Ups and Downs of the Weight Loss Rollar Coaster!

Image
Weight Loss... it is a rollar coaster! One minute you are doing completely wonderful... then you are down 20 pounds, then one day everything changes, and your weight goes from plus 5 pounds down 5 pounds, so on an so forth. The last few months of 2013 were hard. Not only with the Holidays, but my lack of self control, self confidance, and my motivation. Well for 2014 I decided to get right back on my weight loss, and my gym time. I started back on January 2, 2014 (let's face it, the first day of the new year does not count, it is still a holiday). I feel energized and I feel motivated! I have been to the gym 3 times, doing vigorous activity like the Arc Trainer. I took a day off yesterday cause I was ill... and I MISSED the gym! Today it is snowing and the roads look terrible, so I am not sure if I am going to make it tonight either... so I researched some great apps and videos. I have Hulu+, Amazon Prime, and Netflix to cure my need for video as well. Here is an App I found that
